This module focuses on ‘How to deal with issues of spirituality and religion when working with sexual diversity’.
The aims of this module are:
- To increase awareness of internalised negativity caused by religion and spirituality ('There is something wrong with the essence of my being')
- To integrate faith and spirituality as pathways into healing
- To support students in exploring individual expressions of spirituality, including the use of drugs and extreme sex
- To develop awareness about “spiritual bypassing” as a way of avoiding real meaning
- To increase knowledge and understanding about a wide range of expressions of queer spirituality

AIMS
* To understand more about the culture of GSRD older adults and their particular needs as they age.
* To know about myths, assumptions and misinformation which can prevent GSRD seniors from accessing needed medical, mental health and social services.
* Be more aware of potential biases towards these populations and how these may impact clinical judgments.
* Identify some best practices for helping GSRD older adults to feel more included and safe in aging network organizations and institutions.
